The special charity cookies gift by Macau Design Centre

For the first time Macau Design Centre (MDC) got together with a local designer, Le Cordon Bleu pastry chef and beneficiary Orbis, to release the charity cookies with special designed package to raise funds, themed “Blessing”. MDC invited Shidu Art Consultants to design two New Year festive collection gift boxes combined with three types of French butter flavors of cookies baked by pastry chef Betty who graduated from Le Cordon Bleu. MDC organized this charity bazaar with the final objective of donating all the proceeds to Orbis for its sight-saving work in the developing countries. The event was inspired by an emotional awareness “Vision, taste, feeling”, bringing out the best wishes at New Year and inspire others to help the needy through design.

Giving presents is a traditional way of transmitting blessings to others. Therefore, Macau Design Centre hopes to release a creative and meaningful cookies gift in this special time and contribute to charity; on the other hand provides a brand-new option for New Year gift to residents. The packages come with two choices designed by Shidu Art Consultants which has obtained a plurality of important international design awards. Thinking of wealth and happiness peony, and auspicious and pacific peacock, the designers intend to transmit hope, love and a blessed New Year with their design. The package design breaks the traditional style, the graphics and colors portrait a more contemporary design, and can be a collecting box to be reused to place Chinese New Year candies.

Moreover, the French butter cookies are baked elaborately; there are three different flavors to choose from, Earl Grey tea, coffee and Tahitian Vanilla. The Le Cordon Bleu pastry chef uses Britain’s organic Earl Grey tea leaf and Blue Monday coffee beans, through a complicated and exquisite process hand makes truly crispy cookies.

Macau Design Centre hopes to get more attention to local design and at the same time helps Orbis with their mission, sharing happiness with each other. The charity cookies can be ordered on http://goo.gl/forms/p0q1z3mrqP, the price is 168MOP, buy 5 get 1 free, and Macau Design Centre (MDC) will donate the proceeds after cost-deduction to support Orbis in preventing and treating blindness in the developing world.
