Award-Winning Works Exhibition of Taiwan International Design Competition opens in Macau

In recent years, Taiwan government vigorously promotes their cultural and creative industries and achieved remarkable results. since 2006 , “Award Incentive Program for Encouraging University/College Students to Participate in International Art and Design Contests” (International Design Competition) has been launched by Ministry of Education to foster art and design talents. Since then, the number of award-winning works by Taiwanese students in the international significant design competitions has reached nearly five hundred pieces.

 

To present the outstanding award-winning works by Taiwanese students created in recent years to the Macau residents and design community and broaden their horizons, Macau Designers Association is going to host “International Design Competition – Exhibition of the Award-Winning Works from Award Incentive Program for Encouraging University/College Students to Participate in International Art and Design Contests by Taiwan Ministry of Education”, jointly with Taiwan International Design Competition and Macau Design Centre. Macau Designers Association hopes to encourage Macau young designers and students to participate in overseas design competitions by borrowing Taiwan’s successful experience through the exhibition.

 

49 works received Bronze Awards or above selected from 2007 to 2013 IDC program will be showcased at the exhibition, categories including graphic design, digital animation and product design. The outstanding works won international renowned competition including Red Dot Award, International Biennale of Poster in Mexico, Industrial Design Excellence Awards, etc. will be shown in the exhibition.  Professor Apex Lin Pang Soong, who is called “Design Supervisor” in Taiwan, will also be invited to a seminar about “An Analysis of International Design Competition” and share their experience to Macau teachers, students and publics.

 

The exhibition will be launched on 25th of April, 2014, 6:30 p.m. at Estrada da Areia Preta No. 52, Edificio da Fabrica de Baterias N.E. National, 3rd Floor, Macau. It opens from Mondays to Saturdays. 12p.m. to 7p.m. (Closed on Sundays and Public Holidays), and lasts until 31st of May, 2014. The Seminar will take place on 26th of April, 2014, 3p.m. at the exhibition venue. It is free of charge and welcomes the public. This activity is supervised by Taiwan Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, co-organized by Asia University, Department of Visual Communication Design, and partly sponsored by Macau Foundation and Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao S.A.R.
