Macau Design Centre was invited to participate in the 12th China (Yiwu) Cultural Products Fair
The 12th China (Yiwu) Cultural Products Fair was held in Yiwu, China from April 27 to April 30, 2017. Its predecessor was China Yiwu Cultural Products Fair, which was officially established by the Ministry of Culture, Zhejiang Province and hosted by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Yiwu Municipal People’s Government and was named China’s most influential cultural industry brand exhibition. Since its 9th Session, with the new China International Trade Promotion Committee as the organizer, the fair officially changed its name to China (Yiwu) Cultural Products Trade Fair (referred to as “China Fair”). After years of development, the conference has successfully set up an important platform for cultural product trade (export), cultural industry display, cultural information exchange and cultural project cooperation, focusing on economic practicality and making China’s cultural fair as an important commodity trade platform and an important window of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.
Macau Design Centre, as the first comprehensive service platform to promote the development of professional design and development in Macao, has been not only promoting and expanding overseas markets, but also providing design-related services, resource integration locally and development opportunities and cooperation for Macao design companies. Following the previous participation in the “New Age – New Hengqin – New Idea” of Guangdong, Macau Design Centre was also invited to Zhejiang Yiwu International Expo Center to participate in the 12th China (Yiwu) Cultural Products Fair.
At 10:30am on the 27th of April, the opening ceremony was held at the exhibition hall which displayed cultural relics from the Macao Cultural Museum. The opening ceremony officiating guests were Deputy Party Secretary Fu Chunming Yiwu from the Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee and the Deputy General Manager Zhao Jianjun of the Zhejiang Mall Group. The opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting were attended by representatives of the Macao Design Centre. MDC also gave interviews with local television stations at the scene to introduce the services provided by the centre and the design brands it carries, in order to enhance the public’s understanding of Macao’s design. Not only did the Macau Design Centre carefully prepare excellent local design companies to promote the design services, but also selected some of the outstanding design products displayed at the centre from brands such as Shidu Art Consultants, Hylé Design, CaseStation, GloSS Design, 100 Plus Music, SkyDream Company Ltd., BodySkin, Dare to Deam, Form, etc., with the purose of promoting good design of Macao, and to show the public a variety of Macao culture. This in turn attracted a lot of visitors to come to the Macao Design Centre booth, the audience said the design of Macau was very unique and interesting.
