Doubt/ Hope－Wilson Caldeira’s photography exhibition
Wilson Caldeira born in 1975 Angola, studied Marketing and Communication and later Photography at Escola Superior de Tecnologia de Tomar. Several participations in collective exhibitions, catalogs and a solo exhibition in Portugal.
In 2015 participation in Cities a collective exhibition at Creative Macau.

Doubt / Hope
In today visual culture, we are constantly being bombed with millions of images per day, and photography was never so democratic as today, with all the devices, mobile phones and cheap digital cameras. My concerns are far away from technologic issues, my goal is to explore photography as a communication channel, where you can express and question the world where we live in.
We have to embrace this concept of globalization and take advantage of different cultures, the world is changing and Macau also, from both sides of the ocean, Portuguese and Macanese people should share through art experiences, learn about each other and contribute to enrich this beautiful miscellanea of cultures and history.
My work explores the places where I live, my family, friends and details of my daily life. I do not have a particular rule about the way I photograph and the work drives by itself, along the way I will find the right images to create my narratives. My inspiration comes from literature, cinema and music.
The project is divided in two chapters, the first, Doubt is a collection of pictures, made in Portugal during seven months before we move to Macau, is a kind of farewell to Portugal, family and friends.
The second chapter, Hope, it’s about Macau and the new world that I have ahead and the outcome that this culture would present me.
