8 Design Companies were selected to Macau Design Centre studio residency
Macau Design Centre (MDC), which is located in Areia Preta, is the first integrated service platform for promoting Macau design. In the beginning, MDC had 12 independent studios which aimed to provide a comfortable working environment and all-round services at lower-than-market price to local design companies. The studio space is always very popular to local design companies as it spares them the burden of high rent and maintenance cost, at the same time, provides resources, networking and promotional opportunities for them.
MDC accepted studio residency application from middle of Jun until July 6. 17 application proposals were received from local design companies, their design categories include graphic design, multimedia production, branding design, product design, 2D and 3D animation and special effects, photography, spatial design, fashion design, video production and craft design, etc.
Previously MDC and Fundo Das Indústrias Cultura constituted a selection panel to review the application by analyzing their portfolio, business and proposal. The judges unanimously selected 8 design companies. They are:

- Impromptu Projects Limited
- Anonymous Fashion Studio Limited
- Flyfish Advertising Co. Ltd.
- Macau Source Limited
- Kiwi Creation Design Limited
- Core Productions Limited
