Introduction

Macau Designers Association was created in 1985, after 30 years of hard work and great achievements was time to take the next step, to have a Home to develop Macau Design Industry. Macau Design Centre (MDC) was born to be the first platform to give Macau designers, design enterprises and design lovers the opportunity to exchange, promote, learn and cooperate. MDC has started operating on the 15th of November, 2014. Formerly an old deserted factory at the Areia Preta, is the first innovative multi-functional building designed to promote Macau’s cultural creative industry. MDC has been featured on numerous newspapers and magazines as well as reported by international Medias extensively and became a hot place for residents, students and visitors to enjoy local design and gather in the leisure time.

Macau Design Centre exerts the concept of “Good Macau Design, Design a Good Macau” centering on the development of Environmental Design, Industrial Design, Visual Design, Information Design, Interaction Design, Animation Design and Universal Design aiming that Macau Design Industry will develop expansively. One of the main goals of the Centre is to assist local designers and related companies in extending their network internationally especially with the Portuguese-speaking countries, Taiwan and China.
