2nd Anniversary of Macau Design Centre & Signing Ceremony of Strategic Cooperation

Founded by Macau Designers Association, Macau Design Centre (MDC) was put into service in November 2014 and has officially opened on August 15, 2015. MDC is the first platform to give Macau designers, design enterprises and design lovers the opportunity to exchange, promote and cooperate. On this special day, Macau Design Centre held a Signing Ceremony of Strategic Cooperation with Nam Kwong Culture and Creativity Industry Co., Ltd. and Songshan Cultural and Creative Park/Taipei culture Foundation, to promote the culture and creative industry of Macau together.

Macau Design Centre is the first innovative multi-functional building designed to promote Macau’s cultural creative industry. MDC has participated in over 200 different kinds of cultural activities in various fields for the past two years and it has assisted local designers and design companies in extending their network internationally by exhibitions, trade fairs and conferences successfully. As yet, MDC offers 25 studios for local new designers or design companies as their office, My Good Goods Creative Store also launched over 50 design brands with 60% of local design. MDC was honored to receive the Gold Award of Corporate Social Responsibility from the Business Awards of Macau in 2016.

The Signing Ceremony started with a short video summarizing the activities, exhibitions and trade fairs which MDC has organized and participated and followed by a conclusion for the past two years given by Chief Executive Officer of MDC, Mr. Dirco Fong. The Strategic Cooperation was signed respectively with Mr. Ye Yan Kui, Assistant General Manager of Nam Kwong Culture and Creativity Industry Co., Ltd., Ms. Jasmine Chou, Executive Director of Songshan Cultural and Creative Park/Taipei culture Foundation. Ms. Chou also introduced the details of the Strategic cooperation with MDC.

The agreement is a far-reaching and comprehensive strategic cooperation for the cultural and creative industries of Macau. Through the exchange and sharing of culture, it will certainly promote the development of design talents in the two places by cooperation projects, adhering to the concept of “Bom Design Macau” to provide more opportunities to local design and develop new markets in Macau and aboard.
